Introduced in September 2012, the F-Type was the car that put Jaguar back in the luxury sportscar game, with a gorgeous shape designed by the incredibly talented Ian Callum. At launch, two engines were available: a 3.0l Supercharged V6, which develops 340 hp in the “V6” and 380 hp in the “V6S”, and a 5.0l Supercharged V8 with 495 hp. In 2014 the power output of the V8 was increased to 550 hp in the “R” model, with the arriving of the Coupé body style. The ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox was the only transmission available at launch, but in 2015 Jaguar gave their costumers the option of a 6-speed ZF manual gearbox in the V6 models. The option for AWD models was also added. The facelift F-Type, presented in 2017, can also be equipped with a 4-cylinder engine, with 300 hp mated to the automatic transmission only. A D-Type-inspired “Project-7” edition of the F-Type was built in only 250 exemplars, with 575 hp from the Supercharged V8. That tuned version of the V8 engine now powers the “SVR” model, that can do 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) in just 3.5 sec.
